The mission of the Loudoun Freedom is to teach advanced basketball skills, to teach kids how to play the game of basketball, and to provide vehicles through which players will learn to compete at a high level. The Freedom also has the goal of attracting the top talent in Loudoun County and neighboring areas so as to elevate the level of women's basketball in the county. NEWS: June 25, 2009 - Loudoun Freedom Summer Game Opportunities. The Loudoun Freedom AAU Basketball Organization announces a program for summer 2009 offering the opportunity for female players to play basketball. This is for girls who are interested in playing basketball together in an informal environment and improve their individual and team skills. Games are played at Harper Park MS (Leesburg, VA) and are played on Wednesdays from June 25 – August 12. Rising 5th-7th grades play 6:30 – 7:45 pm. Rising 8th – HS grades play 7:30 – 9:00 pm. Cost for the entire program is $50 per player. The girls played both U12 and U13 teams and relied on their strong defense and up-tempo transition offense to carry them through. The girls are now focused on preparing for the YBOA National tournament in July. June 7, 2009 - Congratulations to the U11 Loudoun Freedom girls for going 4-0 in this weekend's Fairfax Stars Summer Spectacular tournament. The girls played up a division against a bigger and more physical U12 Fairfax Stars team in the final game. The girls relied on a hard-nose full court press and speed to counterbalance the Stars' size and physical play. The team pulled out a hard fought vistory, winning by 4 points. May 31, 2009 - Congratulations to the Loudoun Freedom U12 Team for finishing 2nd in the Virginia YBOA State Tournament. The Freedom went undefeated through pool play and made it to the championship game of the single elimination bracket play before losing by 3 in the championship game. Maggie Phillips was selected by the tournament coaches to the "All Tournament Team". May 25, 2009 - Congratulations to the Loudoun Freedom U12 Team who finished 4-0 in the Hershey Invitational Tournament. The Freedom were victorious over teams from New York, New Jersey/Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. May 18, 2009 - Congratulations to the Loudoun Freedom U11 girls for making it to the semi-finals in the Battle of the Balls Bluff tournament. The team loss a hard fought game against a very good Cardinals Rising Stars team. May 4, 2009 - The Loudoun Freedom U12 Team finished 1st in the Virginia YBOA State Qualifier Tournament hosted by Loudoun Triple Threat. The Freedom defeated Lady Hoop Booth by 4 points in the championship game held at Loudoun County High School. Catherine Irvin and Linsey Fagan were selected by the tournament coaches to the "All Tournament Team". April 19, 2009 - The Loudoun Freedom U12 Team finished 1st in the Virginia YBOA State Qualifier Tournament held in Ashburn, VA. Teal Reynolds and Jerica Mingo were selected by the tournament coaches to the "All Tournament Team". April 6, 2009 - The Loudoun Freedom U11 Team finished 2nd, loosing by 1 point, in the AAU VA Central Regional Tournament. With the 2nd place finish, the team is moving on to the AAU Virginia State Championship to be held in Stafford, VA. April 5, 2009 - The Loudoun Freedom U12 Team finished 3rd in the Virginia YBOA State Qualifier Tournament held in Staunton, VA. Nicole Zubovich was selected by the tournament coaches to the "All Tournament Team". March 28, 2009 - The Loudoun Freedom U11 Team finished 3rd in the Maryland YBOA Eastern Regional Tournament qualifying the team for the YBOA National Championship to be held this July in Florida
